Our
Sailing
At Ocean Adventures we offer
great sailing on great yachts at reasonable prices. We offer a
relaxed and friendly environment in which to improve your sailing
skills or just enjoy a great day out. You will be encouraged to
play a full part in all aspects of sailing the yacht including
taking the helm. However, you are of course free to simply relax
and enjoy the view should you so wish.
Many people who sail with us have undertaken courses as part of
the RYA cruising scheme. Given the intensive nature of these
courses sailing with us provides an excellent environment to
further develop skills and/or gain nautical miles in a more
relaxed environment. Our sailing is also suitable for complete
beginners.
We are based in Universal Marina, Hamble River, providing easy access
to the sheltered waters of the Solent. Cowes, the home of yacht
racing, is only a short sail away. Whether you are sailing with us
for the day or longer, each day's sailing will consist of a full 7
to 8 hours sailing on the Solent. We normally cover approximately
40 nautical miles allowing all on board the chance to experience
helming, sail trimming and close quarter boat handling. If you are
staying with us overnight we often stay in our home port of Hamble
or Cowes on the Isle of Wight. You will usually enjoy the privacy
of your own private cabin and full marina facilities will be
available wherever we stay overnight.
Our Second yacht "Four
Seasons" s is a Beneteau First 435 designed by German
Frers. Launched in 1987 she is a fast, comfortable cruiser with a
modern electronic navigation system and an extensive wardrobe of
sails.

Our Solent sailing takes place
on Quintessence and Four Seasons.
Quintessence is a Bavaria 42
Lagoon, built to carry her crew in the utmost safety and comfort
to any destination in the world and offers a luxurious standard
of accommodation with hot and cold water and warm air central
heating.
Quintessence has an
exceptionally spacious and practical interior layout with four
double sleeping cabins and two head compartments. She is safety
coded by the MCA for 10 although, for single berth bookings, we
usually only take 6 people sailing. Navigation facilities
include full electronic instrumentation with GPS Radar.
Quintessence

Quintessence is an original
Bavaria 42 'Lagoon' which are very different from the more
lightweight current Bavaria 42 range. Designed by Axel Mohnaupt
and built to impeccable German standards she is a heavy powerful
offshore cruiser.
