Our practical courses are based on the Solent, probably the best area in the UK for learning with the advantage being sheltered by the Isle of Wight. 

As you can see, plenty of short passages, ideal for all to gain needed practice and experience. You can also see all the ports we stopped over 5 days and 120 miles, with a lot of man overboard and other exercises on the way.

I was born into a sailing family and my father sailed and raced internationally all over the world. So naturally I started sailing sitting on my father�s knee 46 years ago. Since then I have owned 9 sailing boats starting from my first sailing dinghy, an Optimist at the age of eight which I sailed at our local sailing club.  

Now I own Quintessence, a quality 42ft sailing yacht which has given me a great opportunity to share my enthusiasm and expertise with all. Ocean Adventures Sailing was formed 6 years ago with the intention to introduce people to the joys of sailing.

It then became clear that a number of our guests/students wanted to progress so the natural development was for Ocean Adventures to become a RYA recognised Training Centre which is now going from strength to strength. 

Over the past few years I have probably introduced more new comers to sailing than most. Being very laid back, my approach is relaxed, structured learning and keeping our courses above all, enjoyable.
