Solent
Sailing Weekends and midweek 2 day breaks
Our
Solent sailing weekends run every weekend throughout the year and
provide a fantastic opportunity for sailors of all abilities to
spend a full weekend sailing the Solent on one of our powerful
42ft yachts. These weekends are extremely popular with
sailors of all abilities and provide an ideal way to learn new
skills or to experience big boat sailing for the first time.
Our yachts are larger and better equipped than most other sailing
businesses. This means you will normally have the privacy of
your own cabin, there is more space on deck and in the colder
months our yachts have powerful central heating systems.

Our
sailing weekends commence on Friday evenings (or Saturday
morning if you prefer) at Universal Marina, Hamble River near Southampton.
Friday evenings are spent meeting the rest of the
weekends crew usually over a drink in the marina bar /
restaurant before settling into your comfortable berth on board.
On
Saturday morning following a full English breakfast and a
comprehensive safety briefing we set sail. Our route for the
weekend will depend upon the prevailing wind and tide however regular
itineraries include sailing around the Isle of Wight, exploring
the Western Solent & Poole or heading east to visit
Portsmouth and Chichester Harbours. Lunch is provided
on board and we usually stop at a pretty harbour or anchorage
allowing time to relax and soak up the sights of England
premier sailing area.
Saturday
evening we will berth in Solent marina, often we stop in Cowes considered
by many to be the home of world yacht racing.
Other harbours we regularly visit include Poole, Lymington,
Yarmouth
, Gosport, Hamble and
Hayling
Island. The evening is then spent in one of the local
restaurants pubs. On Sunday we spend a further full day
cruising the
Solent
before making our way back down Southampton Water, arriving back
at Universal Marina at about 4.30pm.
All the safety and sailing
gear provided at no extra costs, and all the mooring costs, fuel,
food, snacks, soft drinks and a cooked breakfast on board are also
