the Isle of Wight Sailing Experience, a great
sail and a challenge!
Sailing
around the Isle of Wight provides an exhilarating sailing day
providing a combination of open sea and Solent sailing.
This trip includes free on-board accommodation the
night before the sail in order allow an early start on the
day which is necessary due to the distance to be covered.
We
normally sail west down the Solent in the morning passing
the famous Needles and sailing around the back of the
Island. The afternoon is spent sailing the
length of the Solent passing Portsmouth and Cowes before
returning to Universal Marina, Hamble early evening.
This
experience is suitable for all abilities and includes all
necessary tuition, on board catering and overnight
accommodation. This sailing experience is
operated on a regular basis throughout the summer

Schedule
for the Day
Arrive
at Universal Marina, Hamble at about 9.30 where your friendly skipper will welcome
you aboard. Following a comprehensive safety briefing
we then head out on to Southampton Water and raise our sails.
Once all on board are familiar with the yacht’s controls we sail
down Southampton Water spending the day sailing the
Solent. There will be ample time for everyone to practice a range
of crewing responsibilities, including helming. Our specific
itinerary is dependent on prevailing weather conditions and tides
however we regularly stop at
Cowes
for lunch regarded by many as the home of yacht racing. And
after launch we will make our return back to Universal Marina by
approximately 4.30pm.
