Events not to be missed include the Round the Island race (Saturday 28th June 2008), which dates back to 1931 and considered to be one of the largest and most spectacular races of its kind. Cowes Week (2nd – 9th August 2008) has been dominating the UK’s sporting events calendar since 1826 and is famous for its magnificent, dazzling firework display on the final Friday.
