5 Days, 120 miles of training around the Solent, the Solent in many ways is the perfect training ground. Sheltered by the Isle of Wight, interesting tides, varied passages in calm waters and a very safe environment. With plenty of great places and marinas to stop for the night.

The RYA Day Skipper course,  is the least you need in the way of qualifications and skills to skipper (your own or charter) a yacht, at home or abroad.

We are proud at how we encourage our students to work in a team to help each other rather than be competitive with each other. We find by working this way, it’s far more enjoyable with great results.

We also recommend, before taking your practical, that you have either completed or are working through an RYA Day Skipper Theory Course or have acquired a good understanding of tides, navigation, buoyage & rules of the road, as you will be putting the theory into practice! But if a little rusty on the theory, don’t worry, we’re here to help you get the most out of the practical.

Unlike larger schools, non VAT registered which reflects in our very low VAT free prices! Pupil/Instructor a general rule ratio of 4:1 rather than the normal 5 pupils!  Full 5 days course and 5 nights on board stopping at a number of ports around the Solent

42 ft yacht, larger then most with more room, more comfort!

Ample free parking on the marina or free pickup from local train station

No bunk sharing, guaranteed (unless you're a couple)! Unlike most schools!

Full navigation electronics including Radar,AIS, GPS chart plotters inside & out.

All Courses run only by the Principal or Chief Instructor!

Wet weather gear provided & Full central heating in all cabins!

Includes: cooked breakfast, lunch, soft drinks, snacks and home made evening meals onboard (a couple evenings we eat ashore which is not included). Includes all diesel and mooring costs, and we don't expect you to shop, cook or clean the Yacht at the end of the course unlike some schools. These are held 5 days, midweek, over weekends!
